August 25, 2012 at 4:05 AMActually, I heard the same thing around 那里，那里 also just 3 days ago. This was from a Nepalese guy studying at at Chinese university. Only foreigners fresh off the boat (or just off the jet) say 那里，那里.

I am already reduced to having mdgb.net for saying stuff like 我们起飞重量是 635104 磅、 燃料加载在起飞是 235004 磅，和我们在旋转的速度是 155 海里/小时。

August 18, 2012 at 2:18 AMIt occurs to me that I might be able to counter the effects of having Chinese that's worse than my 4 year old's Chinese by randomly spitting out sentences like "the atomic weight of Neon is my number address on dōngshísìtiǎo lù". But its also possible that i'll just sound like a pretentious jerk with bad Chinese too.
In any event, Periodic table is 元素周期表 yuánsùzhōuqībiǎo. More here:
