Huh. The Contrarian here. The same 10-15 people that post on this site for quite some time then get to a lesson and decide to riff on the humorous parts of the lesson. They then generate about 200 comments and that's rationale for lesson of the year. I guess that's one criterion. I did note that 4 somewhat new faces/not quite regulars (zhoudage, ibexuyi, antony93 and one other) decided to post on this thread. Maybe the most enticing thread would be one that pulled the most lurkers out to start posting.

What would be fascinating to know which was the lesson at which the most people started subscribing. Likely that would be more due to a promotion, but it would be interesting to know if there was a lesson or lesson topic that invited more subscriptions that any other topic. My vote is for the Booty Call lesson.

It was more the "constant" drumbeat of "what do you want to eat?, what would you like to drink? Do you want to drink something?" sentences in the first few CDs. I was expecting maybe as much "the meeting starts at 1pm" kinds of sentences. I would agree, it wasn't as bad at first, but it's been about 7 years since I listened to Pimsleur, so my recollection is more feeling at this point.

Little did the guys at DARPA/Xerox PARC/etc., know that they'd be creating the world's greatest gossip spreader. Thanks Sputnik! Pics of LeBron and Lauren were cool! Does Savannah know?

Yikes. Without basketball, what are we? What sports will be ours to claim as our own and dominate? Hopefully something respectable....Please don't let it be dressage.....

I couldn't believe I was being taught right off the bat "你想吃什么东西?“ as constantly as I was hearing from Pimsleur. I thought "is this what businessmen do when they go to China?"

I take it that nowadays, the average cpod subscriber is an American single dude dating a Chinese woman, or CBA or ABC, and about ready to head to China to meet her folks/relatives.

for once, I found out about a cool website/app in China before Cpod had a lesson on it. I feel oh-so-hip.
