cpod, would you create another lesson, or lesson series that addresses triathlon training? And in this lesson or series, could you address increasing performance during the run, swimming and biking portions?

Can you use the Beijing jiaotong ka in the Shanghai subway system?Probably not (separate systems and all), but I am curious if anyone tried it.

floalvarez, hiewhongliang, I think I was polite in my request for more detail on the athletic aspects of training for a triathlon. Plus, I've subscribed for about 4 years on and off (mostly on), and seen other people make lessons requests, and get them. Cpod makes the determination about what lesson requests to honor or not, but I'm not clear why it's not cool for those of us that want lesson detail here in a specific area to make it. We made a language request, after all. This is a language learning website, and Cpod is the appropriate site to request language on training for a triathlon.

The price you pay for getting video lessons?

By the way, I'm not calling out cpod for "laziness". I did want to point out that in my opinion, as someone that biked and swam, and trained for half-marathons, there were other things besides diet that should be covered in a triathlon lesson. But to be fair, diet would also need to be covered in a lesson. I am surprised that the triathlete in the dialogue didn't say something like "I'm in full training mode, so my daily caloric intake is around 4000 calories a day. For you mere mortals, that many calories would send a 175 cm man up to 120 kg or more".

But I happily want to take Jenny up on her perceived offer to create a triathlon series, and to have this series cover the biking, swimming and running segments from the perspective of a participant. It sounds like this is the time to get our requested terms of art into the queue for consideration. Mine are:

interval

Interval training

laps

flip turns

strokes (as in swimming strokes; breastroke, freestyle, etc.)

7-minute miles

sweaty

weight loss

Fartleks

treadmill

treadmill settings (like setting the treadmill to level 9 to do interval training)

endurance, stamina

pulled muscle

sprained ankle

blisters (on your feet)

knee swelling, ankle swelling

"put ice on your knee"

real wish list

"gatorade"

"water stations"

"porta potty"

Wow, an athlete was preparing for an triathlon, and the athlete was most concerned about what he ate? That's surprising. On the other hand, I know that my eating habits aren't what they should be.

Well, helpful information here. More graphs and pictures, less text.

Interesting article. I would love to hear from the anthropology and philosophy majors what they thought they would do after they graduated. I don't seem to see much press on that.
