My bias is that the preferred mode of travel is flying :-) Trains are ok in a pinch. Buses are ok when you're 21. Ships? All I have to say is USS Indianapolis/Titanic. ;-)

That's it!! and I had it already. Nothing like the real ticket buying experience, if I had actually ever bought a train ticket :-)

Other helpful train and ticket lessons:

Newbie - Tickets Today, Tickets Tomorrow

I could have sworn there was a lesson where the ticket taker was a woman who was impatient with the ticket buyer, and screamed "next!!" when he didn't produce the money.  I'll keep looking for it.

Even though the lesson talks about Vancouver, I don't recall seeing palm trees in Vancouver.  Not to mention an American flag waving in the breeze.  The picture looks more like San Diego. Which is of course why I started thinking

Drunk as hell but no throwing up/Half way home and my pager still blowing up/Today I didn't even have to use my A.K./I got to say it was a good day.

Which of course has nothing to do with Chinesepod.

I thought rusty/corroded pipes was the reason the water was unsanitary in Beijing. But i'm not sure.

Ok, dynamic stretching not so hot either for flexibility increases. Not clear about injury prevention. But small sample size, and "more research is needed".

6.3 RMB to the dollar?  So low indeed.  I remember the "good old days" when you could have almost 8 RMB to the dollar.   Sigh.

I haven't listened to the lesson yet, but time for another shout out to the Bank of America/China Construction Bank alliance where you can pull your money out of your BofA account with no transaction or exchange fees AND NO HASSLE!

Interesting. Grambers, maybe there's more going on China around Africans than I've heard. Maybe in Guangzhou/Southern China, there's more stereotypes around Africans, but it doesn't seem to that there's much against or for Africans in Beijing.

Now that I'm out of the US, i've actually heard more stereotypes around Nigerians than anything. And it doesn't seem to be the Chinese doing it, its the South Africans, or the Zambians or .....
