November 10, 2013 at 11:45 PMRegarding Cpod, my comment wasn't really that cpod crossed a line. My comment here was that they decided to address the topic at all, after about maybe 7-8 years of not addressing it, and a statement (by Cpod, basically saying "we dare not") made around requests for lessons about the Party/the government.
Regarding Bo Xilai, WSJ and NY Times have said I don't know how many column inches about the entire affair around him, Gu Kailai, Neil Heywood, and Bo Guagua. If this involved Americans, there would be about 10 books and a movie out by now.

November 3, 2013 at 3:10 AMUnder the covers, has Cpod made some policy or structural changes? Probably nothing that affects users directly, but interesting nonetheless.

October 30, 2013 at 2:04 AMa few years ago, a friend of the family said that she joined the Party. I was pretty surprised, because she didn't really seem interested in politics. It turns out that she wasn't interested in politics; she was really doing it more as a potential networking/career move.

October 28, 2013 at 10:54 PMyes, I know that you and others have made such suggestions. I remember suggesting (or maybe seeing someone else suggest) a lesson on some Party event (maybe last year's 18th Party Congress). And the response from Cpod was "we dare not!"
But I will say that approximately 2300 lessons in, this is the first or 2nd or maybe third lesson that discusses the Party explicitly as the main topic. Interesting. Maybe we'll get my "supersonic to subsonic airflow boundary layer conditions" lesson after all :-)

September 25, 2013 at 2:30 AMcinnamonfern, I was looking online for research around attitudes of Asian men and non-asian women and their attitudes towards dating, and dating other people outside their ethnic group. Plenty of survey work is done, but not much in this specific area, or at least my quick casual searches weren't finding anything.

Since you're in academia, maybe you have access to some of these research databases and can access the research? Probably you have access only to your line of research, and others, you'd have to pay for research like us non-academic types..... I would love to know what the research says, but i'm too cheap to pay.....

November 12, 2013 at 12:20 AMSo in 1 Timothy 6:10 it says "money is the root of all evil"? And what happens when power and money get into a 15 round slugfest? Which one wins? :-)
