erichuang, if there's one topic Cpod has in abundance, it's lessons on food, and food related topics. See below.  The only thing you can't do in these lessons is order grits and chitlins (not that you'd want them in China anyway):

No, it was rhetorical. You saved me the trouble of looking. Thanks! But now that I think about it, I haven't seen too much bell pepper on pizza in China.

naturally, I tried redoing the search I did for that particular pdf, to get the article that gives a broader context for the economic data China-Briefing provided. And of course, now I can't find it.

richinirish, not sure if the link in my previous works, but if it doesn't, then maybe this one might:

the PDF didn't include Chengdu, but you can get a sense of how good a deal you're getting in Chengdu on your apartment compared with other people in other large hamlets.

Is your place in or near the cool part of town? A poorer section of town? do you have a dishwasher? Oven? How many square meters is your place?

Bobm, there are plenty, but the Beijinger seems to have been a nice place to start.

Observations: obviously, apartment hunting is smoother the better your Chinese, but no online listing seemed to have as many listings as going to the local broker with 20 apartments listed in the window.  Every neighborhood seems to have 3-6 real estate brokers per street.

I wonder if this is the kind of advice that Chinese women get told prior to weddings.
