Ok, I have a question. What's going on with the 一点儿 in 他们一点儿也不知道? How does the meaning change from 他们不知道?

哈哈, that amused me.

Some woman was so shocked that I just took a handful of 100 RMB notes and shoved it in my pocket that she showed us how to check if they were real. I think she may have rubbed them on something to see if any red stuff came off, but I can't remember.

architpol, my dictionary says 比 "indicates a comparison", and 比较 either means "make a comparison" or "comparitively".

rjberki, I used to have a bunch of chronically single male friends at uni who always complained that the nice guys always came last. I told them to get rich instead.

You have three versions? What's that for, near, middle-distance and far? I'm glad I'm not learning Japanese!

Changye, that hurts my head. "这么" 和 "那么" 怎么这么混淆! (Is that right?)

Tucsonmichael, I know the "theory" as it were, but I don't quite see how one defines what is "far" and what is "near". So in this case we have 你怎么那么多问题. However, on a really old Qing Wen (We Answer) there are a few examples such as 你怎么这么聪明. I'm not quite sure how distance differs in these examples.

I'm confused. What's the difference between 怎么那么多 and 怎么这么多? Or are they completely interchangeable?
