RJ, I read a book once that pointed out the English say "thank you" about four times when buying something in a shop. And it's true!

Ooh, just discovered this. I agree, a transcript is handy. There are bits that I didn't catch even after three times.

That was an interesting QW. Numbers are good, though that counting system hurts my head too.

Now this has only got me thinking. What about negative numbers? Imaginary numbers? All the other numbers?

负五 = -5, right?

Has anyone found that the flash player plays the podcast at three different lengths? On my feed, it's 5 mins, on this page it's 48 seconds, and on the popout it's over 9 minutes. Odd.

Ah yes, but my problem before was getting mixed up with "in front" and "behind" as well as time. It's just natural for me to think that my future is in front of me. Less of a problem now though, I think I have got used to it.

lijunziyue, that time concept always hurt my head (in terms of getting 前 and 后 mixed up), but I agree, it is easiest to think of it as travelling through time backwards: you can see the past, so it must be in front of you, whereas you can never know the future, so it must be behind you.

Does anyone get confused by 把? Or is it just me?

I think brothers are 兄弟 and sisters are 姐妹. I was taught that you could say "有没有兄弟姐妹?" to ask if you had any brothers and sisters.

Pretzellogic, there are some lessons on life after graduation:

Well, I can't say for the second one, because I don't actually know that one.

If one wants to learn a language fully, then I imagine one would want to learn about everything, including pregnancy!
