August 9, 2009 at 3:17 PM@Pete, 关于你的两个论点, 第一个我觉得你很对. 这是高中课程应当用中文留言. 你一定分得出我上面的留言的文法很别扭, 因为表示怎么复杂的观念真不容易. 不过我学过了不少的新词.
可是你的第二论点我有意见. 因为这个课程间接的提到美国, 所以我觉得讲 "恐怖美国" 也可以. 我的意见.
关于怕中国, 这是坏的吗? 人家怕你没有好的内涵吗? 以前中国被英国,法国,俄国,日本,等等 侵略, 因为没有人怕. 现在谁敢做. 如果你觉政府的首要义务是保护人民, 我觉得如果我是个中国人, "恐怖中国" 是个好事.

August 9, 2009 at 1:03 AMHi @tal_, 那时候我没有出生，所以谁知道。很多美国人也批评杜鲁门(Truman)。你看，那个网站的批评家多一半是美国人。有一个很不错的纪录片叫做 “The Fog of War." 你肯定喜欢。而且McNamara是个第一手消息的来源。
在那片电影里，我最记得是在第二个世界大战，McNamara问一位美国的将军，Curris LeMay, “你一定要用燃烧弹轰炸东京吗？”将军的回答是“当然，可是如果我们不打败日本，我肯定是甲级战犯。“

August 8, 2009 at 2:38 PM@tal_, 你的第一个超链接多一半是废话. 尽管如此美国的领导都有缺点. 说实在,杜鲁门(Truman)也是这样子. 关于原子弹,在日本,他的决心的结果是日本两次被原子弹轰炸 可是,关于中国,在朝鲜战争中是杜鲁门(Truman)防止麥克阿瑟(McArthur)用原子弹轰炸北京.
回来课程的题目,我自己的看法是现在的中国没有以前的那么恐怖. 在毛泽东的时代,中国对外国家和自己的人民是很反复无常的. 现在比较成熟,比较稳定,所以没有以前的那么恐恐怖的.
中国跟美国不是反对的国家吗? 中国是很古老的国家,可是它的政府是很年轻的,很发育未全的. 美国是很年轻的国家,可是他有世界上(除了小国以外)最老,最成熟的政府.

August 14, 2009 at 12:32 PMInterestingly enough, Sun Yat-Sen also adopted a "Democracy with Chinese Characteristics" in drafting his constitution. He took the old Greco-Roman concept, trias politica, and added two more branches of government: An Examination Yuan and an Audit Yuan. I believe his ideas finally came to fruition with the election of 李登輝 in 1988, albeit modified several times.
Although he's apparently revered in the mainland, it seems that the PRC's ideals primarily flow from those odd bedfellows, Lenin (govenance) and Adam Smith (economics) more than they do 孙中山.
