I have to say that this lesson seems to be hard. Even the vocabulary is quite difficult... But to find out a job is difficult too !

Great lesson !! I wondered if you could read in my mind when I read the intro because, I'm sorry, I just thought that it was a quite simple lesson. But actually it's not ! I like the list comma. And I think that Jenny、Connie and Greg are a big team too for Qingwen.

I've got a question: what about punctuation marks in classical Chinese ? Are there some ? I guess that there is not as much as in modern Chinese, but I'm not sure...

I'm sure that Dilu makes fun of you too (even if I did not notice that, in fact, but I'll be careful now !). But I just enjoy this Chinese sentence !! And, actually, I like kidding people too !!

That's certainly the reason why interpreters in Chinese are often ( always ?) Chinese people: it's too hard and too long for foreign people to get skills in written and spoken chinese. Unless they are called John, maybe...

John, 别 拿 Dilu 开 玩 笑 了 ! 哈 哈 !
Interesting lesson and topic, as usual. Interpretation is a very hard job. I'm always impressed by interpreters. Jenny, you say that you worked as a translator / interpreter, do you mean that you did 口译 and 笔意 ?

I'm just coming back from China and had this tour guide 's experience as well. Fortunately, I jut had to be with a guide during a day.

I could go to Shanghai but for a very short day. I really enjoyed this town. I have two regrets anyway:

1. I had no time to go to visit Chinesepod

2. I couldn't eat xiaolongbao.

I guess I will have to go back to Shanghai...

I think I should have said "my own ones", instead of "my owns".
