July 2, 2011 at 4:55 PMOh oh, so we will have the abstact meaning lesson coming soon... Great ! I can say that it's the same for me in French. The example of the tennis palyers I talked aboit was not really that clear for me even in French. But that's the interest of learning different languages and cultures: I have to auto-analyse my owns.

July 2, 2011 at 4:25 AMOh, I've just listened to the podcast and Liliana says that a very strong personality is not really the topic. Next time, I'll listen to you before asking a question ! Sorry guys.

July 2, 2011 at 2:57 AMVery interesting topic. And it's always very useful to be able to know the precise meaning of an adjective (sometimes dictionnaries are a trap, in fact). I'm very happy to know how to say ni Chinese that my tea is too strong. I've got a question anyway. How would you say that someone has a very strong personality. And what about people like tennis players by example (Nadal or Federer at Wimbledon) who are strong enough (in their mind) to win even if they were about to lose a match ? I hope you can see what I mean because I don't know the precise word in English. I did not listen the show yet, just watched the PDF, I'm sorry if you answered my question during the show. I arrived in China yesterday so I can get news from CP at the Chinese time. Great !

Sorry, Jenny, David and 孙悟空. David, I love your new picture !

June 25, 2011 at 8:16 AMYou are right Chris, there 's a Qingwen about "Keeping and leaving" and I also think that with 留 Orangina can express that her friends left some food.
To know more, the Qingwen is this one:

June 13, 2011 at 8:12 AMHi Kangxia !
I checked on the Chinesepod site and I saw other directional verbs, with second tone for 来 and fourth tone for 去. But in fact, if I'm not wrong, they are both pronounced at neutral tone.
Here are the other directional verbs in the grammar part:
