May 25, 2009 at 8:02 PMCute lesson and a hilarious discussion thread. Jenny could you share the link to the pun related article from new york times you mentioned in the podcast.
RJ , the panda joke is hilarious. There's also a book by the same name 'eats shoots and leaves' about bad punctuations

May 19, 2009 at 6:02 AMI stumbled upon a particular podcast on the itunes store called mandarin music Mbeds by Thomas Cassidy which had frequently used mandarin phrases with some catchy music in the background. Must say that it was really one of enjoyable ways of learning i had come across. The background music was well chosen to be in sync with the tempo of the phrases spoken by a native speaker which was followed by the english translations .

Never felt like taking a flyback even once when i was in China for a year long work assignment.
Visa expiry would be the only reason that would make me fly back home from China which i would only do if i wanted to renew it legally. Going by the recent visa trouble people travelling to China are going through, i would rather be an illegal immigrant lol

May 10, 2009 at 6:19 PMGreat lesson! Though a lot of chinese people have the bollywood perception about India, the line 街上有没有人跳舞? is hilarious haha. When in China, though I have always been asked if ALL Indian women are beautiful as they are in bollywood movies , nobody's ever asked if people in Mumbai dance on the streets lol
