We always use 枝 with plants, such as 一枝花, because the "木" means plants in Chinese,like 树木,trees.

So, we always say 一支笔, but not 一枝笔.

the "束" also appears in 束缚, bondage.  (I just learned "appear in" from pearltowerpete  :D )

In fact 束缚 also means "tie". This is why 一束花 means "a bunch of flowers", beacause a bunch of flowers always tied with with laces.  (I hope this sentence is allright)

一些花 means "some flowers"

we don't say "一棵花",we always say"一棵树" as "a tree"

一把花 ,一束花 ,一捆花 and 一捧花 all means "a bunch of flowers"
