The Chinesepod quick review dictionary defines 活下去 as:
(1) to live
(2) to carry on living
(3) to go on living
(4) to continue
But, in the fix and resources metioned above, 活下去 is defined as outragous.

January 25, 2010 at 3:23 AMThe vocabulary section glosses 活下去 as outrageous. Whereas in the dialog it is glossed as to continue living.
My dictionary does not contain the item in question, but I do know this:
V- 下去 indicates perseverance of a state or action; example:
（1）我找不到工作，恐怕活不下去。"As I can't find any work, I'm afraid that I can't continue to live"
（2）這首詩我看不下去 "I can't keep reading this poem!"
For those that may be confused, the gloss in the dialog is probably correct. It is also the one that is intelligible within its linguistic matrix.
Here are my dictionaries entries for outrageous:
(1) 可憎的；可恥的 （可耻的）
(2) 粗暴的；無法無天的 （无法无天的）
(3) 極不道德的；無恥的 （无耻的）
(4) 無節制的；令人吃驚的 （无节制的；令人吃惊的）

January 24, 2010 at 12:32 PMIn Taiwan you don't need to take an HIV test to get a visa. You need to take an HIV test to get a residence or work permit. NOT A TOURIST VISA. There is a big difference.
Also, having an HIV test done to get a work/student visa is common practice around the world. In some ways it's not that bad: the test helps make infections known, and thus prevents further infections. Of course, banning HIV positive foreigners from studying/working in Taiwan is not ethical behavior these days.

耳濡目染 自然而然 罪魁禍首 死氣沉沉 烏煙瘴氣 登高一呼 以身作則
As all of these words are unseparable , what would be the basis for breaking them into two disyllabic pieces; that is:
耳濡目染 ěrrú mùrǎn 自然而然 zìrán érrán
罪魁禍首 zuìkuí huòshǒu 死氣沉沉 sǐqì chénchén
烏煙瘴氣 wūyān zhàngqì 登高一呼 dēnggāo yìhū

January 26, 2010 at 7:03 AM在這個故事中兩個男女朋友遇到聚集，他們本來以爲是抱抱團，後來發現不是傳説中的抱抱團而是一群跟陌生人擁抱的愛滋病人。看到後那位女生覺得要走開，但男生想要透過擁抱表達他的心意與幫他們累積活下去的勇氣。
這兩個朋友的看法肇因於紛歧的教育，女生沿襲她媽媽的舊有思想，即艾滋病是絕病、髒病，必定使用無所不用其極的手段防止被感染。不過那位男生認爲她扭曲情況，忽視科學研究出來的事實，他說：
除了性傳播、血液傳播和母嬰傳播之外，其他接觸都是安全的，像握手、交談、擁抱都不用擔心。
經過那位男生的勸導，她的看法從冷漠的改變成愛心的、由排斥的變成接受的、從以傳統為根據的成爲以科學爲主的，總之這位兩個朋友一起達到共識，那就是去跟艾滋病人擁抱表達愛心和同情。
