Royal Baby Name Announced: Archie

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, have welcomed a new member of the British royal family into the world. Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on Monday. The Duke and Duchess shared the baby’s name on their Instagram account a few hours before the official announcement at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

他除了承袭母亲梅根双种族的非裔血统，也将有资格在英国国籍外同时获美国公民身分。

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, announced Wednesday on social media, that they have named their newborn: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The announcement accompanied a picture of the couple with Archie, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and Doria Ragland - Meghan’s mother.
Against the trend in the royal family, Harry and Meghan did not choose a name to honor any particular royal ancestor.
Additionally, for the time being, the couple has decided not to use an aristocratic title for their child.
CNN's royal correspondent Max Foster reported, "Instead of a traditional royal name, they chose a name they loved."
Foster said, "What they are very much doing is reflecting their generation. They are not looking to history, they are looking to now."
Archie, the eighth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth, is seventh in line to the British throne.
He has African-American heritage through Meghan, whose mother is biracial. Archie is a British national and is eligible to obtain U.S. citizenship.
