Everyday Activities in Chinese?

October 31, 2007, 04:45 PM posted in General DiscussionI have a request for a lesson, and I'm not sure where to submit it, so I thought here would be a good place to start. In teaching ESL, one of the lessons we teach beginners is how to describe everyday activities. These include things like get up, wake up, brush your teeth, take a shower, get dressed, make/eat lunch, brush your hair, wash your face, shave, etc... phrases most native speakers take for granted their ability to say.
I searched Chinesepod's lessons, however, and could not find anything specifically about everyday activities. Would it be possible to do a lesson (or short series of lessons) on this topic? Thanks!

November 01, 2007, 02:13 PMdo you mean you don't have to watch out for Ninjas, or other supernatural events every day?

November 01, 2007, 04:53 PMThanks guys! The links were a great start, and it's good to hear there's another lesson in the making. @goulniky: Here in Michigan, the biggest thing we watch for this time of year is SNOW! Though the Superman lesson did come in handy with one of my friends... amazing what you'll cover in an average conversation! :-P

November 01, 2007, 05:02 PMbrooke, the topic is not an issue, it's just that the weirder it is, the less likely you are to be understood if you get the tones wrong... chances are the context won't help with Ninjas, lost Himalayan tribes or UFO abduction!
