It means that just like in any business, there is a healthy turnover of staff.
What do you think it means?

What is your opinion now ?

There has been a complete change of ownership now along with dismissal of some of the old teaching staff. From my recent dealings with the new regime I have noticed a distinct lowering of the customer service standard along with a complete lack of respect for the those who have been with Cpod from the beginning.
So sad to see.

June 12, 2014, 12:11 AMTHAT IS PROGRESS FOR BETTER OR WORSE?
GIVE THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT AND THEY WILL STAY
When Ken left everybody thought it was the end, but I feelit got better, there have been a few ups and downs but overall it has been good.
The challange for CP is to keep ahead of the rest but remember what we ot here want.

June 12, 2014, 03:30 AMI! AM! HERE! BTW, we are planning some really exciting video content for CPod. Our goal is to have every CPod lesson have both a video and audio version. But I shall not say too much until the details are all ironed out and cameras rolling.

I'd be interested to know how long it will be until we see these video lessons?

Bonscott,
There are already some videos on the chinesepodtv YouTube page and you will see the new QingWen episodes have a video link in the description.
It's a good start but I'm looking forward to more video content in the future for the regular lessons as well. It would be a ton of work though, basically doubling the editing and upload time at least.

Jenny is no longer here as well as some of the teaching staff.

There are definately plans of making video lessons that are similar to the existing Cpod format, and at the moment we are playing around with some blog style videos on YouTube. Subscribe there to get the latest content if you want to see some video lessons.

September 30, 2014, 03:16 PMThe continued presence of Jenny in Chinesepod is certainly significant enough to help it maintain the high quality of its lessons. Vera and David are also doing a good job in keeping the students entertained and enthusiastic - no doubt about this!! Thanks to both of them.
Nevertheless, I have to admit that the presence, charisma and voices of John Pasden, Amber, Ken and especially Connie are badly missed by Chinesepod students (especially me). We cant deny the fact that they made Chinesepod the best mandarin learning website. Somehow, they made Chinespod lessons very lively, humourous and fun!!
Is it possible to get John, Amber, Ken and Connie to join Chinesepod again??
I am sure all Chinesepod students agree with me.

Jenny also makes Chinesepod really fun and should not be overlooked. She has been here from the very beginning and is still putting out great content to this day. John and Connie were with Chinesepod for quite a while so it's understandable that they would like to try something new and expand their horizons with new opportunities.
Everyone has their own reasons for leaving but I think we should focus on the future. Chinesepod has recently hired a bunch of great new staff such as Gwilym, Fiona and Kendrick who are producing fantastic content on youtube with other new faces like Iona and Fang Laoshi .
Personally I feel that this brings a lot of fresh new energy that I feel is great for Chinesepod and look forward to all the new content they bring in the future.
The one show that I kind of miss would be a show with a similar format to Dear Amber, where listeners can ask questions to the Chinesepod team. Things that aren't always passed along in the lessons such as what it's like living in China as a foreigner, new experiences and such would be pretty fun and interesting. China has changed quite a bit since 2008/2009 when Dear Amber ended and I feel like there could be a new experiences and things to share.

Don't get me wrong, I will miss hearing John, Connie, Ken and Amber on the podcasts but I just feel that we shouldn't forget all the great people we do have here producing great lessons for us.
Oh, I forgot to mention David! He is awesome too and has been with Chinesepod for ages :)

October 02, 2014, 02:41 PMNo doubt all Poddies miss the old gang...John, Amber, Connie..etc...they all brought something special to Chinesepod. But it's a great relief to me that Jenny is still podcasting...she is the foundation of CPod and the reason I keep coming back.
I do appreciate all the new team members that have come on recently. Fiona, especially has been a refreshing voice. Can't wait to see the new video lessons on CPod.

October 13, 2014, 03:59 AMPlease do not focus on youtube only. Please take into acount those of us, like myself, who are living in China. It is, 'Chinese'pod after all. You must make video content available to everyone.
If you must use youtube, please, please, please, also use yuku or some other video sharing site in China.

Hi Antony,
Thanks for the comment. We are indeed planning on releasing the latest ChinesePod videos lessons on Chinese platforms. We should start uploading within the next couple weeks. I'll give you a shout once they are up.

January 20, 2014, 12:10 PMVery true. And many good people left already - Ken, Amber, and many more. Everybody can imagine what this means...
