November 27, 2008, 04:06 AMI like Patrick Dempsey's tv show, Grey's Anatomy. I'm downloading it with chinese subtitles for some time now. I don't read too many words for I am a bit lazy, but I i've picked up some transliterations for the protagonists names. The translators gave up using these transliterations over time, though.

Oh, is he very famous there? Any other suggestions for those movies and plays that he had participated?
"hunk"=a guy who is handsome and charming?
what's the difference between "hunk" and "handsome"?
And also what's the difference between"looker"and "cutie"?
Hope you can enlighten me.

June 29, 2008, 08:40 AMHello Cassie,
I think a hunk is a guy who is not only handsome, but is usually well-built.
Hunk to me pertains more to physical attractiveness (good looks, good body) than his inner traits (eg, charming, kind).

June 29, 2008, 09:15 AMhitokiri6993and aclchan ,
Thank you !
I also find "hunk-chris". Why there is a chris behinde?
My LongMan dictionary says hunk means a man who is attractive because he is big and strong. So I prefer aclchan's explanation, not only handsome but also well-built.^_^
So let me give you the chinese explanation.
Hunk=富有魅力的健美男子 fu4you3mei4li4de1jian4mei3nan2zi3
富有魅力fu4you3mei4li4=attractive
健美jian4mei3=well-built noun
健美jian4mei3=to exercise verb
