Any David Tao 陶喆 fans?

August 17, 2008, 11:16 PM posted in General DiscussionI hear he has a new CD out but I'm not sure if I'm going to like it. I really love his old stuff but lately he's just getting too cutesy.
My favorite album of his is Black Tangerine 黑色柳丁 which has some great tracks and really creative rhythm. I really haven't heard many artists like him, in Asia or US for that matter.

August 19, 2008, 05:17 PMI just stumbled upon David Tao last week while looking for something else. I thought he looked very hansome so I was thinking...let's hear him. So I listened to a small clip on my iTunes and bought the only two albums they had available.
I was hooked instantly with the first sound from his mouth. He has an incredible voice and the songs, even though I do not understand the words, yet....I understand the emotions he displays very well. You can feel the song, the words I believe would just add even more once I understand them all.
So yes...I consider myself a David Tao fan. Wish I had known about him long before now. Thank you all for the links. :o)

August 19, 2008, 01:00 AMCassielin thanks for those links! I've always liked his videos too... very simple and yet moving. I've seen the video of his live performance of 'Love is Simple' before... it's just awesome! He always sounds good live, even when he's on talk shows and such.
I still prefer his rock songs and creative beats to the more mainstream songs he has now. That song he did with Jo Lin '今天你要嫁給我' kinda makes me cringe.

I was told it's just a cute way of breaking up the character 喆 into its two components. But that's just word of mouth. I do find most KTV places and online use 陶吉吉
