Starting to feel like family

This may seem like a pointless post, but I wanted to take a moment to say that some of the personalities are starting to become like family to me in a way. I think that this is because I have been listening to podcasts for over an hour per day for a while now. I am beginning to feel like I know Ken and Jenny rather well, and I look forward to meeting them if I am able to visit Shanghai.

Hi amesburygeorge,

I have had studied here with cpod and poddies for about a year and a half.And made some really good friends here. They just like your family, you listen to them, talk to them and study with them together everyday. The more you being with them , the stronger feeling you will get!^_^ Although I am not often be here in recent months, but the feeling still in my heart! When you back here, you will feel everything is so familiar.

Keep on your study, keep on loving Chinese!^_^

Hello everyone,

It has been a little while since I have posted anything (besides a technical post), so I wanted to let people know that I am moving to China on Thursday. My Chinese learning is going to be put to the acid test real quick, as I have only spoken to a native speaker once in the 9 or so months that I have been learning Chinese, and that conversation was quite brief. At some point, I hope to visit Shanghai and perhaps drop by the office. Wish me luck, and maybe I will see some of you abroad. I will be the white guy in China wearing a Boston Red Sox hat.

Hey, good luck with the life in China.  I'll be moving to Shanghai next month, and while I've lived in China for 5 years prior, I know know the rush feeling to go there, speak a whole new language on different terms and culture.  ChinesePod is always a big help in understanding those language and culture struggles, so do keep in touch here.  Do get to talking to native speakers as soon as you can, and start by talking Chinese to them, as it starts a good habit.

太好了阿! Congratulations. I envy you going to China :-) I really liked it there during my little trip this summer. 别忘吃北京烤鸭,真好吃。

Hello everyone,

As I have mentioned elsewhere, I have been studying Chinese for a little over a year now. In many ways, my Chinese language has really improved. I have been living in China for a little over 2 months now, and if I get the chance, I want to visit Shanghai. If I am able, I will obviously want to visit the Chinesepod office. I really hope to meet some of the podcast crew, after all, they have found a warm space in my heart. It will feel almost like a family reunion. Please don't misunderstand me, I don't mean this in a creepy way. Just remember that I have been listening to Ken and Jenny almost every day for a year now. While Ken and Jenny do not know me, I know them (although at an incredible superficial level) pretty well. Anyway, I hope this post does not freak anyone out, I just simply want to make you feel appreciated for all your hard work.

thanks,

George

@amesburygeorge,

It would be great to meet you! When you next come to Shanghai, make sure you pop into the office and meet the Cpod team! :)
