June 05, 2008, 06:27 AM你的句子写得都非常好except this one "她的儿子很厉害(Her son is amazing)。 又胖又懒惰". Actually, this sentence is grammatically correct. but the meaning is a bit different from what you want to say.
真难以相信,（really unbelievable）他的儿子又胖又懒惰。
结婚：get married eg. A 跟 B 去年结婚了。
婚姻: marriage
嫁给 only can be use for women. for man, we use 娶(qu3) instead.
please compare the examples below:
1、王小姐跟王先生结婚了。
2、王小姐嫁给王先生了。
3、王先生娶了王小姐（当老婆）。
见过： have seen, have met
看过: have watched, have read
eg. 我还没看过这本书。I haven't read this book yet.

Maybe I need to hire an English teacher too... ;-)

I hope these sentences make sense. ;-) A friend of mine stopped by while I was in the middle of working on this, so I didn't have enough time to make a sentence for each new word. Maybe I will try to make some more tomorrow after I see your feedback. I will probably have more questions for you then as well.

How different is "我有个朋友来了" from "我朋友来了"?
Can you "make" other things with 造, or is it only used for sentences?

I have a question about 给我. Sometimes it appears at the end of a phrase: 发电子邮件给我 (send me an email). Other times it appears at the beginning: 给我打电话 (give me a call). How important is the word order in these examples?

June 04, 2008, 03:05 AM"我有个朋友来了" means "a friend of mine came". Actually, there is another way of saying: 我的一个朋友来了。
"我朋友来了" my friend/friends came.
造句 (to make sentence or sentence-making) is a fixed expression.
For example, 用生词造句. use new word to make sentence. Please notice that "new word" in Chinese we say "生词" instead of "新词" :)
If you look up the “造”in the dictionary, you will find many meanings of it.
It litterally means "to create" 造物主 the creator； "to build" 造房子 to build house；"to make" 造句子, it is usually used together with "制zhi4". For example “中国制造", which means "Made in China".

"给我打电话" 和 “打电话给我" 的意思是一样的.
It is like "give me a call" 、 "call me" in English.

I don't know if that structure works here; I've only seen it in one other place.
懒惰
她的儿子很厉害。 又胖又懒惰。(Her son is unbelievable. He is both fat and lazy.)
无礼
那个服务员非常无礼。(That waiter is extremely rude.)
嫁给
我姐姐打算明年嫁给我最好的朋友。(My older sister plans to marry my best friend next year.)

Is there any difference between 见过 and 看过?
Also, the lesson talks about 嫁给, but it doesn't say much about 结婚. What's the difference between these two?

2、我是一个很上进的人 or 我很上进！The word "上进" is used to describe one's general personality,so normally we dont have to mention an exact situation when using this word.
3、我有个朋友来了，所以我没空造很多句子。
