Upgraded site?

So here I am frittering away my holiday, googling things at random, when I came across this site:

 http://chinesepod.3322.org/

So is this a test site, or someone's clever imitation?

The content is the same, but it looks more like Frenchpod...

Wow, vagabondpilgrim, that is quite a find. It even has the skeleton of the mystical GRAMMAR GUIDE, which most of us deemed to reside in the realm of fiction only.

Now it is clear why the new Flash players have not been extended outside the Vocabulary page - they are in this new site, but not yet functional. Perhaps this is a good place to point out one drawback with them. They do not indicate broken links for sound, which occurs in many of the old lessons, probably because they are not preloaded. With the light bulbs, they did not glow if there was no sound available.

And you have 15 minutes to edit your posts. It feels a bit like "15 minutes left until self destruction...14...." The content is not yet completely updated (comments, Dictionary entries).

Grmpfh, I have to go to bed (明天得特别早起床 。 四点钟, 连我也承认是一点极端的。。。), otherwise I would take it apart piece by piece with you now. One small thing I noticed so far: Wild card search in the dictionary does not work anymore.

Let's just hope Cpod has foreseen the discovery of the new site by curious poddies.

Looks like you have to do it the hard way to add links, images and videos etc, it won't auto recognise the code. Fairly straight forward though.

Community search doesn't work very well, it only seems to search usernames.

And the real Confucius-lesson is in there, also. And the Dictionary is integrated. The one that knows words like "Klingon", "Borg". And unlike the old CPod dict it is already linked to newer lessons, so it will be probably be automatically connect the above mentioned vocab to the "Star Trek" lesson as soon as it appears in the (near?) future.

Very exciting, it looks great! I'm sure it'll be a nice upgrade once everything is up and running.

Love the new pic on the homepage! I can't wait until the new site is live - it's a huge improvement on the current one. Well done once again CPod!

When you look at the FrenchPod site, it has a similar front page. This is very exciting, can't wait for it.

For some strange reason the pictures on the channels site show up fine in internet explorer but not at all in firefox

Another general suggestion here, not just relating to the transition, but with the sentences for the expansion, can you perhaps make a button which toggles the English on and off. I don't know about anyone else but i spend a bit working through those sentences and like testing myself at first to see if I get the correct meaning, but the translation is easily distracting. Thanks

I haven't found the lesson search, yet - only the dictionary search. The Me page lists all lessons in your archive instead of only the bookmarked one (which I prefer as I want to see my backlog). Lesson page is pretty much unchanged: The HTML + the traditional files still have not gotten their well deserved link positions. Most of the points I mentioned in the SPod-update post here are still valid (no teacher presentation, no lesson count etc.).
