符 is the second tone in the dictionary, but in daily usages you'd hear people pronounce it as second tone or third tone!

Hi Yingyue, you'd hear people pronounce 一模一样 as yìmóyíyàng, but in the written text, it would be yīmúyīyàng.

Hi Yingyue, “喂” is only pronounced as the second tone when you're in a phone call, so we chose to keep the original fourth tone in the written text to avoid confusion. Just like the tone changes in Chinese, we don't normally indicate the changes in pinyin. Thank you for your feedback!

Hi Gavin, 没事儿 is commonly used in northern China, especially in Beijing.

If you want to express "30% discount", you can say 打七折. In Chinese, when you see "打一折" that means you'll pay 10% of the original price, “打四折” means you'll pay 40% of the original price, and so on. I'm so sorry, we don't mean to scare you!

会 and 能 expresses ability, while 能 and 可以 implies possibility or permission. Yes "我可以说中文吗?" means "I'm allowed to speak Chinese" or "It's possible for me to speak Chinese"

Thanks for the feedback, we're sorry that you feel it's unnatural. Actually, we hope to add some authenticity into this lesson, so we invited a kid and his dad to do the recording! But you can always go to the dialogue tab and listen more closely to each line.

Thanks for the feedback! We understand it's difficult for new learners to get used to the sound of Chinese, so we play the dialogue three times, first time is for them to pay attention to how it sounds, second time is for them to listen out for characters, and the third time, we hope they can try to shadow the speakers and practice a little.

Thank you for the detailed explanation of the word "爆炸", it has many usages, and we think in the newbie level, it's best if we introduce the most common meaning of this word, which is "to explode".

Yes it's self derogatory. We say this phrase when we heard someone is unimaginably rich. You can say something like: 你每天的零用金有一百万?贫穷限制了我的想象力。
