September 15, 2015 at 11:08 PM“不是一天两天的事”means it takes time for something to happen OR something has lasted for a while. For example:
(1) 他很懒，也不是一天两天的事了。This indicates that he has always been lazy.
(2) 你想健康，就要坚持锻炼，绝对不是一天两天的事。This indicates that to stay healthy, you need to do exercises on a long term, not just for a day or two.

May 25, 2015 at 7:03 PM这个 CHINESEPOD 课程挺有意思的。记得我们上大学的时候也是一样，宿舍里总是有个大姐大，一个小喇叭，1-2个学霸，外加2-3个积极谈恋爱的。
中国的女孩子比西方的女孩子成熟的晚一些，所以我觉得西方女孩子高中阶段情绪比较波动，谈恋爱的挺多。中国的女孩子大部分大学阶段才情窦初开，外加一点小无聊和一点小寂寞。haha

If you want to describe that one's heart is too lonely, you would say: 她感觉非常寂寞。
There's an interesting Chinese phrase called: 寂寞难耐。：)

也有非常好的口语化的用法;
(1) (做一件事情）过不过瘾？
(2) (做一件事情）有什么福利吗？
