May 14, 2010 at 2:51 AMI could be wrong but I'm pretty sure the television dialogue at the start is from Ice Age 3. Maybe its a side effect of having a six year old daughter but I think I recognise that voice! It's Buck the one-eyed possum!

May 10, 2010 at 4:59 AMi'm stunned. how did world war three break out here from what appeared to be an innocuous question?

April 19, 2010 at 8:22 AMI don't want to be critically reactive to change and the dashboard seems to me a feature which one can choose to use or not to.
But what I wonder why my iTunes podcast feed is not updating with the new lessons. Is it something that I need to do? I have put a new RSS feed URL into my iTunes window but the latest lesson which is available is the nuts intermediate lesson.
Grateful for any advice on this. Is it only a temporary issue? have the most recent lessons (eg the diaper lesson) listed yet to be made available by podcast?
Thanks!

April 1, 2010 at 1:13 AMJohn,
Am I right in thinking this is your blog. I've just discovered it via Twitter. It's great! Love the blog about Chinese characters spliced into English.

December 4, 2009 at 2:04 AMre: flashcards - i get it it now! if i click on the cross or tick on the bottom, the flashcard moves forward without having to click on the arrow. my problem appears to be that i was doing both and the flashcard was advancing by two meaning i would then have to go back to see the previous one.
anyway i guess this is a convoluted way of saying that i've figured it out and it works fine!

December 1, 2009 at 2:19 AMLiliana gets my vote. how anglo-centric to say that her accent is inferior for teaching Chinese. what difference does it make? I like her verve and enthusiasm and I hope she's not discouraged by a tiny minority of negative comments. Keep going, Liliana.

May 14, 2010 at 4:51 AMdefinitely means the bird - flightless, nocturnal and endangered. in NZ the fruit is called Kiwifruit but it seems to be known around the world as Kiwi. and as zhong_bide pointed out, the irony is that it was known as Chinese gooseberry when it was brought to NZ for cultivation.
