I find the content of the lesson very interesting but I personally would have liked a better break down of what the "news commentator" said. Otherwise all people remember/takeaway are the vocabulary. I believe it would help understanding the context of the vocabulary too.

Can you explain/do you know why Chinese idioms only have 4 characters?

Great  content and another way to learn.

But please mind that the discussion video does not work on the Smartphone, even if using different devices.

In the beginning of the video it said clearly that this lesson is so students can join conversations about Chinese festivals, and that it is a lesson on culture. So I don't understand the complaints.

But I also noticed 正月 being pronounced Zhèng, not Zhēng,it's quite crucial since it came up so often. Can you clarify that?

For someone whose mother tongue isn't English, I'd recommend someone who speaks better English. There are also some small mistakes, for example prickle <-> prickly.

I find both speakers very sympathetic, but I found it a little difficult to deal with the accent in English.

Very nice video! Just one little mistake I noted at 9:50, where 什么 should be shen2 me, not she2 me

Aren't there also people who have names with more than 3 characters? Is the surname still only one, the first character?
