March 14, 2016 at 7:20 AMI think what you're asking is what is the word for a “drinking straw”? In that case it is 吸管 xīguǎn。
The rest are words for types of grass.

March 2, 2016 at 8:28 AMThat's a good question. Try not to think of 很 hěn as very. 很 hěn is merely linking a noun + adjective. You can read more here. Of course, if you emphasise the 很 hěn in the sentence (by elongating the 3rd tone), it will act as "very."
In general, if you want to highlight something as VERY, it's best to use another wod like 超 chāo,or 非常 fēicháng。 非常 fēicháng means extremely so is quite strong.
挺 tǐng gets translated as both really, very, or quite (colloquial). In many cases, it goes 非常好>很好>挺好>还好, but since the speaker in the dialogue is using it with emphasis, you can think of it as it's regular meaning of really. The two in the middle (很好 & 挺好) are very similar and can vary in degree depending on the speaker.
Hope that helps a bit.

February 24, 2016 at 2:25 AMJust to update this, the dialogue sentences have also been updated on the Dictionary search. We actually discovered a large bug which prevented updating of the most recent lessons. Now you should find the search feature displays a lot more sentences now.
Give it a try :)

February 19, 2016 at 9:22 AMThe two tracks are synced up ok, so perhaps try refreshing your browser. Might be a computer glitch. It could also be a mental thing since the tones of our voices are quite different to usual because the mics are so close.
