1. 封山。山当然可以封啊，比如说山上因为大雨而土石坍塌(collapse)，这时候就有可能封山。

3. 待在家里，是这一个“待”。不过“呆”也是可以用的，两个都可以。

The difference between these two words is what they are trying to emphasise. 到 is to achieve something or to arrive, whereas 过 is to pass. So when the expired date is May 20th which is today, you can say 到期了. 过期了 is used from tomorrow on. Let me know if you have any questions!!

May 25, 2020 at 6:50 AM发现 means to discover to find out, 发觉 has a quite similar meaning but it emphasises more on awaring the unknown. It is usually translated as to realise. Another thing worth mentioning is that only 发现 can be used as a noun.
For example,
这个科学发现改变人们对地球的看法。
我发觉自己最近变瘦了。
