July 3, 2020 at 7:49 AMThe word 倒 is used in a sentence to indicate that the speaker is a little surprised. For example, 她写的字倒是挺漂亮的. The underlying meaning is that the speaker thought her writings are not pretty but turned out that her writings are beautiful and elegant.

July 1, 2020 at 6:00 AMWhat you are saying is correct. The word 先 means to do something in advance, or before someone. 先吃了, 先走了 is a subjective expression of the person eating or leaving without waiting.

The first sentence simply means that "Did you take my keys?". The latter is emphasising “起来” which is the action of picking it up.

June 28, 2020 at 5:49 PMThis is a very good question. In fact, this happened to me once. It really depends on the context and the situation. Let me give you two example, 他说话就是太刺耳(harsh)了，你如果不喜欢他的话，那就当作没听到吧。 What do you think about this 的话 means in the context?
