You need to spend more time in China, my friend. ![]()
PS. Oh boy, how I detested all those old jingles. I taught myself how to use a sound editor just so I could get rid of them.

June 28, 2009 at 2:58 AMI agree with those who want lessons at the same time each week, but unfortunately it often seems to come down to when Chinese holidays occur. Case in point was the very recent 端午节 (Duānwǔjié n. Dragon Boat Festival, 5th of the fifth lunar month). In China this is a big thing and just about everything shuts down. For poddies this apparently meant some lessons being recorded even more in advance than usual and seemingly appearing on a different day to usual, no doubt to accommodate the CPod office staff holiday schedule. 怎么办啊? ![]()

Cheers mate, and your little girl is a beaut. And you look pretty hoopy in those excellent wedding pics!
The bizarre and dreadful (I'm kidding people!) social phenomenon which is the taking of Chinese wedding pics can only be regarded as one of those odd cultural phenomena studied by err... anthropologists. It deserves a lesson or a CPod feature all to its own. If it ever gets one I'll take the opportunity to describe my own day of torture.

Actually the photo was taken by a pro. Recently my wife has been quite excited about this baby contest she put the little guy in for. Voting finished the day this lesson appeared otherwise I'd have been inviting all of you to vote - lol. He made the top 100 anyway, now goes on to the next round! I'll let you know if he becomes the champ! ![]()
Here's a slightly more recent pic which I took myself.

June 26, 2009 at 12:14 AMYou can see my little tyke here. His Chinese name is 周子茗 (Zhōu Zǐ Míng). His mom is from Chongqing, I'm from the UK.
He was born on February 13 2009. Boy, what a night that was!
Now he gets me up early every morning and keeps me on the hop all day.

Which is which? And how to say 'yabbadabbadoo' in Chinese?

It is the very lovely 巩俐 as a little girl. Didn't she grow up into a beauty?
