January 6, 2008 at 2:17 AMhaha, the funny thing is, when i looked at that pic again, i realized it really does look like Clay and Dave haha. xiaohu, honestly, every week we get more and more entrants to the contest. please don't make me write the list of runners up... i have no time!!! heheh. instead, you can just wait with anticipation for the day that you will be the winner ;) (i accept bribes you know... packages mailed to me filled with Trader Joes products curry a lot of favour)

January 6, 2008 at 2:13 AMhi excuter, the promo/intro was, like most everything at Cpod, a combined group effort ;) ! melitu and sebire, its funny, when i heard how healthy the goji berries were, i went on a goji berry kick a couple months ago. I would go to the chinese tea shops and buy bags of them, and all my Chinese workmates would freak out when they saw me eating them like a snack. it was fun for a while, but they taste a little like dirt so i got sick of them after a while, hehe. I think they taste nicer once they've softened up in tea.

It is used to emphasize the time, purpose or manner that something was done in (the action having already been completed). 我是3月来中国的。 Wǒ shì 3 yuè lái Zhōngguó de. It was in March that I came to Shanghai. 我是坐飞机来的。 Wǒ shì zuò fēijī lái de. I took the plane here. 我不是一个人来的。 Wǒ bù shì yī gè rén lái de. I didn't come alone. 我是来学汉语的。 Wǒ shì lái xué Hànyǔ de. I came to study Chinese.

January 4, 2008 at 10:10 AMhi howard97 and jicutler, Yes it can be a bit confusing because the word used for 'building' when giving addresses has the word 楼(lóu) in it: 1号楼 (yi hàolóu) 'building number 1' 2号楼 (er hàolóu) 'building number 2' 楼房 (lóufáng) can also be used for a building. 层 (céng) is the equivalent of the English 'storey', and 楼 (lóu) is the equivalent of the English for 'floor', i.e.: 这个大楼有88层。 Zhège dàlóu yǒu 88 céng. This building is 88 stories tall. 我的公司在30楼。 Wǒ de gōngsī zài 30 lóu. My office is on the 30th floor. 我们小区的房子都是 7 层的。 Wǒmen xiǎoqū de fángzi dōu shì 7 céng de. The buildings in our complex are all 7 stories tall. 我住5楼。 Wǒ zhù 5 lóu. I live on the 5th floor.
