July 23, 2007 at 2:05 AMHi AZERDocMom, Yes, it's quite strange, but 好容易 (hǎoróngyì) is a set phrase that means "with great difficulty" and 好不容易 (hǎobùróngyì) also means "very difficult." 好容易才找到他。 (Hǎoróngyì cái zhǎodào tā.) and 好不容易才找到他。 (Hǎobùróngyì cái zhǎodào tā.) both mean: It was with great difficulty that I found her.

July 23, 2007 at 1:13 AMhi bailang, 好 (hǎo) and 很 (hěn) both mean very when used in this context. 好 (hǎo) has a little bit of a 'cuter' feel to it, it's more often used by women than men. But they can be used interchangeably.

July 20, 2007 at 8:41 AMHi Rash, Yes, here, this multi-functional little 来 (lái) is used much in the same way as when we say: 再来一杯啤酒 (zài lái yī bēi píjiǔ) Kind of a bring/take kind of feeling. The more you hear it, the more naturally its use will come to you, don't worry. Great idea for a Qing Wen episode, we will do that!

July 20, 2007 at 8:37 AMHi Andy, 爪 (zhǎo) (zhuǎ) are both acceptable pronunciations for this character. 凤爪 (fèngzhǎo) and 鸡爪 (jīzhǎo) are the same the 子 (zǐ) in 鸡爪子 (jīzhuǎzi) can be omitted

July 20, 2007 at 8:15 AMhi philarcher, It would be more natural to say: 我迷上了Jenny的声音。 Wǒ míshàng le Jenny de shēngyīn. In Chinese, 上瘾 (shàngyǐn) is generally more used in association with being addicted to things of a more negative nature.
