hi catav, 普通话 (Pǔtōnghuà) is the word for the Mandarin Chinese language, the offical language of China. 汉语 (Hànyǔ) and 中文 (Zhōngwén) both mean the Chinese language, both ancient and modern Chinese. Dialects could possibly be considered under the umbrella of 汉语 (Hànyǔ) and 中文 (Zhōngwén). It might be one of those things that depends on who you ask. Opinions vary on this point.

Hi AuntySue, Very sorry to have missed your "and" question for so long! The interesting thing about "and" in Chinese is that there are a lot of different words for "and", depending on context. But to start with, here are the two simplest "ands:" 和 (hé) "and": 他和我是好朋友。(Tā hé wǒ shì hǎo péngyou.) He and I are good friends. 面包和牛奶一共十块钱。(Miànbāo hé niúnǎi yīgòng shí kuài qián.) The bread and milk cost 10 RMB in total. 我去过北京和上海。(Wǒ qù guò Běijīng hé Shànghǎi.) I have been to Beijing and Shanghai. 跟 (gēn) can also be used to mean "and". (But please note, but in some contexts, 跟 (gēn) means "with":) 他跟我是好朋友。(Tā gēn wǒ shì hǎo péngyou.) He and I are good friends. 面包跟牛奶一共十块钱。(Miànbāo gēn niúnǎi yīgòng shí kuài qián.) The milk and bread cost 10 RMB in total. 我去过北京跟上海。(Wǒ qù guò Běijīng gēn Shànghǎi.) I have been to Beijing and Shanghai. There are more words that can be used where the English "and" is used, and you will learn them more as you go along in your studies. But to start, you can have lots of fun practising with these two!

Hi RoninDC, 我吐了好几次了。(Wǒ tù le hǎo jǐ cì le.) To say you vomited numerous times, you use 次 (cì)! If you like this topic, you can check out our lesson on throwing up (how fun!)

hi xusheng, here are a few common ways to express anger: 气死了 (qìsǐ le) 气疯了 (qìfēng le) 气炸了 (qìzhà le) These are probably more often used by women. As far as what men would say, it may be that they would express their strongest anger by swearing. Well, that could go for women as well, actually.

hi user16078, Yes, the eternal question. Are you in Taiwan by any chance? When I moved over to Shanghai I also ran into the 下载 xiàzài / xiàzǎi debate. Well, I can tell you from my experience that everyone in Taiwan says xiàzài, and the mainland says xiàzǎi. So... take your pick?

Hi Man2Toe, Here is your example sentence, just tweaked a little: 上中文播客網站的時候,怎麼下載對話的mp3文件? (Shàng zhōngwén bōkè wǎngzhàn de shíhou, zěnme xiàzài duìhuà de mp3 wénjiàn?) Just to add to trevelyan's comment-- file is 文件 (wénjiàn), folder is 文件夹 (wénjiànjiā).
