May 4, 2008 at 7:05 AMhi sushan, 回收 (huíshoū) does imply that you are getting a bit of money for it here. However, they don't use the word 押金 (yājīn) like we do in English. Basically if you wanted to know how much money you will get back for it, you just ask how much.

May 4, 2008 at 7:03 AMhi kesirui, Knowing whether 有问题 (yǒu wèntí) means 'to have a problem' or 'to have a question' is all context.

May 4, 2008 at 6:08 AMhi gesang, Yes, you could use 样品 (yàngpǐn) 'sample' in the context of a laboratory. Sometimes 标本 (biāoběn) 'specimen' is also used in this case. Now, if you wanted to talk about a sample of, say, food in a supermarket, you would use: “试吃” (shìchī) 的东西 (de dōngxi) And a sample lady might call out to you in the supermarket: 欢迎品尝这种新饼干。 Huānyíng pǐncháng zhèzhǒng xīn bǐnggān. You are welcome to sample this new kind of cookie. If you wanted to ask for a small free sample of a product, for example like cosmetics or perfume, you could say: 送不送 小样? Sòng bù sòng xiǎoyàng?

May 4, 2008 at 5:47 AMHi sarahjs, 名字 (míngzi) and 叫 (jiào) aren't interchangeable. 名字 (míngzi) is a noun that means 'name', and 叫 (jiào) means 'to be called'. Here are the correct ways to use them: 我叫鄭安雪。Wǒ jiào Zhèng Ān xuě. 我的名字是鄭安雪。 Wǒ de míngzi shì Zhèng ān xuě. 他是李東。Tā shì Lǐ Dōng. 我是安雪。Wǒ shì Ān Xuě. 他叫李冬。 Tā jiào Lǐ Dōng. 我叫安雪。Wǒ jiào Ān Xuě.

May 4, 2008 at 5:40 AMhi memmifer, 我大学学过汉语。 Wǒ dàxué xué guò Hànyǔ. means: I studied Chinese in university. For the sentence: 我在大学学过汉语。 Wǒ zài dàxué xué guò Hànyǔ. Depending on the context, however, adding the 在 (zài) can indicate the location, as in, I studied Chinese at university, as opposed to a language school, or with a tutor.
