April 3, 2015 at 2:56 PMIn what circumstances would one use "jiu4" for help versus "bang1" for help? I'm having trouble making distinctions between these. thanks in advance

March 24, 2015 at 3:47 PMExcellent lesson. and, as a side note, Fiona does an amazing impression of the automated voices on the phone system. :-)
quick question: when I look up "shao hou4" online, I get a different character for the hou4. I get ran hou de hou, or hou mian de hou (6 strokes), not the character shown in the pdf

is this a typo, or is this just fan ti zi? I only really know jian ti zi.

February 8, 2016 at 4:03 PMthanks for a great lesson. for me, the mixing of fan ti zi (e.g. hua4 in jixianghua; this happens a few times/lesson) and the jian ti zi in the video is confusing at times.
also, a funny coincidence that the magical peaches of immortality themselves use the word xian1 - one could xian4 the xian1tao2 if you wanted to really confuse people :-)
