March 29, 2013 at 10:17 AMOkay, so is 产妇一般休息多久去上班 a colloquial phrase or a 书面语phrase or both?

March 29, 2013 at 6:19 AMthere is a line in the dialog that I don't understand. The line is:
是啊,上本地学校吧,怕管得太死,孩子的创新能力被扼杀,英文可能会退化,上国际学校吧,有怕学得不扎实,特别是怕中文学不好
My question is : why are there two 吧 characters? Isn't this a suggestive marker?

March 28, 2013 at 4:58 PMQuestions:
1. In the lesson we learned that we can say 我满脑子都是这首歌, and we can also say 我现在满脑子都是宝宝. In English, when we say "I have a song stuck in my head", it's never a good thing, so my question is does saying 我现在满脑子都是宝宝 not carry a bit of negative meaning? Does Chinese language not distinguish "having something stuck in one's head", which is a bad thing, and "all I can think about is" which is something important to us?
2. How do we say husband's mother-in-law and father-in-law?
3. Chinesepod recently taught another word for chubby: 胖乎乎. Is this word any different in meaning or usage compared to 胖嘟嘟?
4. In the task section there is a question I'm curious about. The question is: 生完小孩以后,产妇一般休息多久去上班?In this sentence, there is no 才 or any other character after 多久. If we put a 才 after 多久,would there be a difference in meaning, and would it sound less natural?

March 25, 2013 at 4:58 PMTwo questions:
1. Is there any difference between 麻烦你跟我说一声 and 麻烦你跟我说一下 ?
2。In the sentence, "一点半到三点销售部要面试新员工", does 新员工 mean people who have already been hired, or people who are having job interviews and may or may not get the job, or can it mean both? I'm guessing both, because Chinese is usually vague

March 25, 2013 at 9:17 AMalso, if I'm interviewing someone for a job, should I use 经历 or 经验?

March 29, 2013 at 1:12 PMIn this lesson, there is the character 裔。 Can we use this character with any other words, such as 柬埔寨裔美国人, or 韩裔美国人? If not, how do we say Cambodian American and Korean American?
