I tend to agree with Bill...I think the WTS videos are great, but I got more out of the Vocab Tour videos.  Are those finished, or are they just currently in production?

Kevina, I also had no clue, during my first supermarket experience in Taipei, why the clerk was asking if I wanted a bag.  I had purchased many items and it was obvious I couldn't carry them all.

That's when I learned that a bag cost NT$2 (about 6 cents US).

Great timing for this...now I can go back to the supermarket with confidence!

Thanks drzen!  I used 请坐吧 on the bus the other day and I got a 谢谢 and a smile from the older gentleman.  I wasn't sure if I needed the 吧, but it just felt a bit more polite to me.

Would any of these be okay to say when giving up your seat?  Which would be the most polite?

给您让坐。
gěi nín ràng zuò.

请坐吧。
qǐng zuò ba.

您坐。
nín zuò.

Thanks.

A good term to know, one I learned the hard way last night, taking a train from Taipei to Zhongli:

T : 月臺
S : 月台
yuètái

railway platform

Don't be on the wrong one!
