开幕式从甚麽时候开始？
kāimùshì cóng shénme shíhou kāishǐ？
When will the opening ceremony start?
- What is use of 从 cóng (with) in this structure?
你看过奥运会开幕式吗？
nǐ kàn guò àoyùnhuì kāimùshì ma？
Did you watch the Olympic Opening Ceremony?
- My understanding of 过 guò was that it is a past experience marker. So I would think this translation would be:
Have you ever watched the Olympic Opening Ceremony?

Just a note, the audio doesn't match for the following expansion sentences:
她爱北京奥运会。
(She loves the Beijing Olympics.)
你们是运动员吗？
(Are you athletes?)

flyboeing, QW never has PDF's for the dialogue. You could copy and paste Connie's sentences into a text document.

I thought 你怎么样 (nǐ zěnmeyàng) was a natural way to ask "what's new?" or "how's it going?", but even that seems to get strange reactions.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

I often see 谢谢 translated as "thank you," but then also see 谢谢你, so I've always wondered if 谢谢 only means "thanks."
