I hear that Chinese people tried to kill flying sparrows with the loud sound of drumbeats at that time, which really sounds "earth-friendly". A swarm of people, beating drums, run after flying sparrows .... I believe it must have been spectacular. Judging from a stamp issued in 50's, it seems that children employed a more scientific method for killing sparrows.

Hi John

The Chinese guy should live in Japan.

I know a Japanese girl whose first name is “文香” (Fumika/Ayaka), which sounds very cute in Japanese, but, unfortunately, the Chinese reading of her name, "wen2 xiang1", is completely the same as that of “蚊香” (mosquito coil). She looked a little disappointed when I told her about this, hehe.

That's not a scam or anything, but a kind of "legitimate transaction", at least, by Chinese standards, hehe. Please be noted that as far as a fraud concerns, "blame (or laugh at)-the-victim" mentality is very strong here in China.

That's right. Looks like major Chinese video sites are block only in Japan. That's a nice materialization of “中日友好”, hehe.

I guess that might be a "state-of-the-art" spittoon (痰盂).
