I have just found two transliterations, 速可达 (su4 ke3 da2) and 速克达 (su4 ke4 da2), for a scooter on the Internet, but I am not sure whether or not they are commonly used in China. At least I have never heard local people use them so far.

Looks like that everything goes in China. I have found 绿壳鸡蛋 (lv3 ke2 ji1 dan4, green shell eggs) on the Internet. Do you want to eat them? http://images.google.cn/images?hl=zh-CN&q=%E7%BB%BF%E5%A3%B3%E9%B8%A1%E8%9B%8B&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wi

Hi auntie68, I seem to be teaching “auntie” to suck eggs, but just for the record let me please post an advice. According to my dictionaries, the United Kingdom consists of England, Scotland, Wales (威尔士), and Northern Ireland. Confusingly enough, England as well as Great Britain is often used in referring to the UK. There is a transcription ”英吉利” (ying1 ji2 li4) for “English” in Chinese, but as far as I know it is not frequently used. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/maps/europe/england/ English channel 英吉利海峡 (hai3 xia2)

Today’s picture (图像, tu2 xiang4) is somewhat terrifying (可怕, ke3 pa2) to me, since it reminds me (让我想起, rang4 wo3 xiang3 qi3) of the eggs (鸡蛋, ji1 dan4) I bought here in China a few years ago (几年前, ji3 nian2 qian2). All their yolks (蛋黄, dan4 huang2) were incredibly dyed deep-red perhaps with Sudan Red (苏丹红, su1 dan1 hong2), which is a banned (禁止使用, jin4 zhi3 shi3 yong4) cancer-causing dye (致癌的染料, zhi4 ai2 de ran3 liao4).

Hi Chinesepod, Thank you for a great lesson. I love this classroom-style dialogue very much. I believe that you are going to offer us more similar lessons in the future. I would like to listen not only to history-related dialogue, of course they are very interesting, but also to other subjects such as math, geology, and science.

Hi wennytao, The analogy in the last paragraph in your above posting is not very appropriate. Of course, you can freely choose whether or not to smoke and take dope, but you cannot choose not to suffer congenial Gender Identity Disorder. Like it or not, some unfortunate people are destined to struggle with GID in any country, including China.
