Hi bodawei

其实我也很喜欢吃花生米,特别是油炸花生很配冰镇啤酒!

我认识的一个日语老师(中国人)天天做家教,他每一小时只收十块钱,太便宜了!

I feel rather embarrassed to say this, but it's not necessarily "totally different meaning". They have a little bit of something in common.... I leave it to your imagination.

Hi John

我不知道你是否有弹钢琴的天赋,不过我很相信,至少你肯定有一个很大的优势,也就是说你的手好像跟“拉赫玛尼诺夫”(Rachmaninoff)一样大!你的最大手指跨度是多少度?

Hi matthewrudy

That's a good idea, and please be careful not to put “士” (shi4) instead of “土” (tu3) on your business card since the character “士” (shi4) originates in the shape of "organa genitalia masculina", hehe. Which do you like better?

请大家注意,中国花生有黄曲霉毒素(aflatoxin)污染的风险,特别是多吃潮湿的花生很危险,有可能导致肝癌的发生。

Thanks a lot for your "Rosetta Stone". I believe that Champollion would definitely love your post, hehe.

Hi alexyzye

Reading the pinyin is not necessarily pointless, considering the fact that a lot of uneducated Chinese, mainly elderly peasants, can speak Chinese without knowing how to read/write Chinese characters. That said, reading pinyin-only text is really a tough job. I just hate it, hehe.

PS In a sense, modern Korean, which uses Korean alphabets although the language contains tons of Chinese words, is a kind of "pinyin only language". The same is true for Vietnamese.
