I am going back to Japan tomorrow and come back to China again in a week. Every day will be a sushi-and-tempura day! I will probably be too busy eating and drinking, sometimes working, to come here to learn Chinese. 日本很少有买组装电脑的人、 更少有人自己动手装台电脑。 这东西主要是电脑迷的玩具。 但其实是组装电脑并不太难、 好象比设置家庭影院还简单。 购买组装电脑既经济又实惠、 最关键是如何识别正品配件。

Hi Rich, “Changye” is the name of my favorite Japanese pop song, “長い夜” or “The Long Night”, which is often sung at a wedding party in Japan. Believe or not, I am an experienced KARAOKE singer, my specialty is Japanese ANIME theme songs.

Hi sylvia, What Kyle said is right. To know how to pronounce pinyin correctly in the earliest stage is extraordinary important. Learning to read pinyin is not difficult, but sometimes very confusing to foreigners.

Hi pulosm > do people use 巴士(bus) and > 的士(taxi) in Mandarin, too? As far as know, the two words are rarely used at least in the Northeast. Local people usually use “公共汽车” and “出租车”. The situation may be a bit different in South China. I thought “出租车” was a rental car at first, but it was a taxi. A rental car is “租用汽车” in China.

很多日本人喜欢三国演义。 我估计很少人不知诸葛亮。 日本有不少三国演义改编 而成的长编小说和漫画书。 让我向大家介绍其中一套 最为脍炙人口的漫画杰作。 这是日本著名漫画家横山 光辉七十一年开始着手后 花了十五年才完成的作品、 是一套六十本的精心著作。 http://www.gundammk2.com/hp/sangokusi/y_san/top.htm http://www.ebookjapan.jp/shop/title.asp?titleid=4076

> in Cantonese, it sounds like > New York (nyoo yeuk). That means New York was transliterated first by Cantonese. There’re so many this kind of words in Chinese. Let me show you some examples. 巴士(bus), 的士(taxi), 夏威夷(Hawaii), 华盛顿(Washington), 瑞士(Swiss), 瑞典(Sweden), 香港(Hong Kong)

我在中国的路上经常看到 残疾人拄着拐杖慢慢走路 或者拼命摇着轮椅的情景。 我认识的几位残疾人自己 经营修鞋店和家电维修店。 盲人当按摩师更不用说了。 据他们说国家对残疾人会 给予减税或免税优惠待遇。 这些情况给我的印象是在 中国残疾人参与社会活动 的机会比较多但反过来看、 都会是生活很困难的缘故。

Don’t worry about no-uncle/aunt generations. Even China cannot afford its one-child policy forever. The situation is changing gradually, and that means you cannot run away from the issue of memorizing family titles.
