October 26, 2007 at 12:35 PMHi pulosm > do people use 巴士(bus) and > 的士(taxi) in Mandarin, too? As far as know, the two words are rarely used at least in the Northeast. Local people usually use “公共汽车” and “出租车”. The situation may be a bit different in South China. I thought “出租车” was a rental car at first, but it was a taxi. A rental car is “租用汽车” in China.

October 24, 2007 at 6:47 AM我在中国的路上经常看到 残疾人拄着拐杖慢慢走路 或者拼命摇着轮椅的情景。 我认识的几位残疾人自己 经营修鞋店和家电维修店。 盲人当按摩师更不用说了。 据他们说国家对残疾人会 给予减税或免税优惠待遇。 这些情况给我的印象是在 中国残疾人参与社会活动 的机会比较多但反过来看、 都会是生活很困难的缘故。
