February 4, 2010 at 12:12 PM中国男女比例早就失调了，男人找女友越来越来难，所以男人好不容易找到了结婚对象就要选个好日子，以便尽量减少将来离婚的可能性， 这是理所当然的。虽然现在已经是21世纪，可是“讲究迷信”好像还有存在的理由，呵呵。

February 3, 2010 at 3:20 AMI send documents by air (EMS), and send a package (mainly books and food) by sea from Japan to China, which takes about a month. I always enjoy the "waiting time". The longer I wait, the happier I feel when a package arrives. As the Chinese saying goes, 好饭不怕晚! Sorry, I don't know how to say it in English. Help much appreciated!
P/S 好饭不怕晚 .... A delicious meal is worth waiting for............????

"A shoe" and "a sock" are respectively translated as "一只鞋(子)" and "一只袜子". The measure word "只" originally means "one of a pair of something". It's obvious if you see the traditional forms of "只" and "双", that is to say, "隻" and "雙". The former indicates "a bird on a right hand", and the latter "two birds on a right hand".
