The particle "着" is also used for an imperative sentence, for example, "你听着!" (listen to me) and “你戴着帽子!”(keep your hat on). "拿着" can be translated as "hold it", but exactly speaking, what it implies is "hold it and keep holding it".
Incidentally, does the English phrase "hold something" also has the meaning "be holding something"?

I often hear "里头" (inside) and "外头" (outside), but people don't use 右头 and 左头. I don't know why.

Somewhat confusingly, there is also the word "疼痛" (teng2tong4) in Chinese, which means the same as "痛".

"带" means "carry something, take someone to, bring someone along", so you can 带 not only 手提包 but also 小狗 and 你妈妈. Basically you seldom have the opportunity to use the verb "取" when picking up someone, unless you have many friends who are in trouble with the police.

"接" (jie1) usually connotes "catch/recieve", and its typical example should be "接球" (jie1qiu2, catch a ball). You can also say "接行李" (pick/receive baggage) instead of "取行李", and in this case they are interchangeable. In generall, "接" is often used when you catch/receive something that came from other place, such as 球，行李，电话 (phone call)，信 (letter) and so on.

我不是“老师”，只不过是“老头”，哈哈。
“你听着”和“你听我的”这两个句子有不同的意思。前者指的是“listen to me” (physically, but not figuratively)，而后者指的是“follow my advice”。
