I just had to use this today! Hurrah for useful phrases! My room card memory always gets wiped. :P

This is my third trip in China and since my first trip about six months ago my Chinese ability and comprehension has improved VASTLY - in other words, before I could just say simple things and now I can sometimes understand what people say to me and I can sometimes reply. (Even if I still accidentally give the driver Hong Kong money...but that's a different sort of issue.) Thank you ChinesePod. I love you.

Oh - and CPod also improved greatly since it started. I just listened to one of the older intermediate lessons. Whoo...confusing. I think the teaching has improved so much! It's good to know you grow along with us. ;)

There's a door at my university that has pull-type handles, but it is a push-to-open door. (The door also says both "push" and "推".) Yet I always try to pull it open and every time I think of this...

Calkins, I wouldn't bother with this guy. He's been posting only for the past three days and all of his posts are picking apart the expansion sentences. Either he's trying to show how much smarter he is than the CPod staff (why is he studying here then?) or he is simply a troll. I don't think he's posting with the intent to learn anything - so there seems to be no point trying to explain. It's nice of you to make the effort though! :)

xiao_liang - I'm so jealous! I wish I could do the same. The frustrating thing is my guy doesn't speak, read or write Chinese (nor does he want to), but because he was born and lived in Singapore until he was 12 he understands more than I do. So irritating! :)

Ha ha - Unfortunately I'm about to get super busy because I have to go home to the U.S. this weekend. No more hiding in a corner with no life, only doing research and studying Chinese. :)

What, do you mean you say "zed" like the Canadians? ;D

Wow! Nice compromise between the lower levels and the upper levels! I think that was nicely done.  :)  Bravo!

And excellent job on the interview Ivy! Now if I was just a little bit higher level, I could have understood more of the Chinese. Just a bit beyond me. But it was good to practice listening to something for a longer period of time.

Ah - from my American perspective she definitely had a non-American English accent. Which I think is pretty cool. I never could have placed it as New Zealand though.

It's fun to live in H.K. and hear many of the local people speak English with a British accent. Emphasize those "T"s. :D

Hey - I couldn't reply to your post for some reason, so I posted the other two Qing Wen's below.

Here are the two other 就 Qing Wen's that I remember:
