is listed in the Supplementary Vocabulary, but should be in the Key Vocabulary, as it is used in the dialog.

On the Dialog mp3, the sound level for speaker B is extremely low.

What does 老 mean here -- 六十岁以上, or something else?

公司辞退了很多老员工。

gōngsī cítuì le hěn duō lǎo yuángōng。

The company laid off a lot of old employees.

Small translation typo: "he" instead of "you":

你被解雇了。

He was fired.

What does the speaker say after "401"?  It sounds like there is another syllable.

On the Dialog Mp3 recording, last speech, what is the speaker saying for 怪?  It doesn't sound like "guai4".  Sounds like "gou4" or something.

都怪我们的空调

What exactly is a "soy milk machine", 豆浆机?   I had never heard of such a thing before reading this Expansion sentence.  There are some on Amazon, but I'm unclear on what they do.   Can anyone explain?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

我本来想送她一台豆浆机,可是她已经有一台了,只能买别的了。

wǒ běnlái xiǎng sòng tā yī tái dòujiāngjī, kěshì tā yǐjīng yǒu yī tái le, zhǐnéng mǎi biéde

le。

At first I wanted to give her a soy milk machine, but she already had one and I had to buy

something else

I also wondered about the difference between those two characters.

Could someone answer, please?
