I recommend trying 大腸蚵仔麵線(台灣話：ô-á mī-sòaⁿ）with little oysters 蚵仔, large (pig) intestines, (大腸) and vermicelli. Add chili sauce and black vinegar to taste. Mmmm!

John is right that the "zhu3 jiao3" pronunciation of 主角 is not in most dictionaries, which prefer "zhu3 jue2", although the excellent 國語辭典 http://dict.revised.moe.edu.tw maintained by Taiwan's Ministry of Education has the former as "also pronounced" (又音), and it's interesting that the Windows 注音符號 ("bo-po-mo-fo") character entry function, which I use to type Chinese with, ONLY has 角 asㄐ一ㄠˇ (jiao3).  At any rate, virtually noone in Taiwan says ㄐㄩㄝˊ(jue2). Vive la différence?

I tend to be philosophical about Peter's ninjastic demise. Afterall, he had suffered cruelly from chronic tone inflamation, which would have proven fatal sooner or later (sooner if I was 李經理 and had easy access to  ball-peen hammers).

My dictionaries have 指手划脚 (zhǐ shǒu huà jiǎo) but not 比手划脚, and the 指 version appears to be used twice as often. Could the 比 version have come in later through confusion with 比划?

"费用由我们来出" does exactly the same thing as passive voice in English does, which is to put the topic first. Is it "passive" in the grammatical sense? Yes. Is it "passive" as in wimpy? No.
