I want to ask ChinesePodders:

How have you learned to write and remember characters? What materials or

apps did you use? Why would you recommend your method to others?

Thanks for this great lesson! I was wondering, however, whether there is any reason why the text version of the lesson has it's title in hànzì and why there is no English translation.

不知道方便吗?

I notice that '吗' is used here although this is not exactly a 'yes-no' question. Is this construction an alternative to

知道方便吗?

Am I correct in thinking that in Taiwan it is possible to say

不知道方便?with the same meaning?

I had learned 脚踏车 for bicycle. Is this word used in China or only in Taiwan?

By the way, the podcasts are especially useful to me because where I live, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the internet is not always available.

Thanks so much for the recent new lessons! I am enjoying listening very much and am learning the new words.

I have become totally disenamoured of iTunes. It does horrible things to podcasts which I won't go into details of here. Instead I have recently started using Downcast for receiving podcasts. It works like a dream! On my iPad I can not only read the text of each lesson, but I can click on links to Discussion, Dialogue and so forth and be taken to the ChinesePod site within the Downcast app. Can anyone tell me how to remove all my iTunes podcasts from my iPad and iPod?

I was taught that jay-walking was walking across the street at an angle, rather than taking the shortest, direct distance. Crossing against a red light is simply crossing against a red light.
