In this lesson the vocab item Pinyin for 学而优则仕 is written as xuééryōuzéshì. Is the Apostrophe (xué'éryōu zé shì) optional?

I am having trouble understanding this 论及婚嫁 supplementary vocab item. Does 虑及婚嫁 have the same meaning?

This was a good lower intermidate lesson. Constance speaks very clearly. I am looking forward to Upper Intermediate lessons.

The first expansion example has an error

it should be

怎么回事？家里乱七八糟的。

The correct way to write the pinyin for 一共 is yīgòng (yi1 gong4). When spoken, Mandarin changes the pronuncation of character groups based on the pronuncation of adjacent characters. Sometimes the pinyin for 一共 is written like this yị̄gòng. The yi1 with the dot under the i indicates that the correct pinyin is yi1 but there is a tone change when spoken (Tone Sandhi).

I looked 烘干机 in my Pleco 现代汉语词典 dictionary:

用来给谷物或衣物等除湿的机器。

So it sounds like a more general term that can be used to describe drying grain and other things, as well as clothes. Perhaps the ChinesePod staff can give a more accurate definition.
