As long as the hotel has a western toilet I'm fine with it.

April 29, 2011 at 4:31 PMIt's complicated and I don't want to bore you with my family politics but My wife is Chinese, it doesn't sit well with her if I should be paying for anything, let alone Chinese instruction like from Chinese Pod. One thing I've learned about Chinese is that most of them are super thrifty and are able to make due with a helluva lot less than I'll ever be used to. But, the way I see it is one has to pick up a basic vocabulary and grammar base from somewhere, and Chinese Pod seems as good a place to start as any. So, I spent the money...our money...the cash was my spending money, under the radar of my lovely wife's high tech monitoring system.

April 28, 2011 at 10:30 PMmy first and only wire transfer in China was sending you guys money for a two year subscription last year. Wasn't as hard as I thought, but those bank workers sure stumbled all over themselves trying to understand my Chinese and the fact that I wanted money sent to a Shanghai bank and not a bank in America. Chinese are like everyone else with a pulse, get some sort of preconception or expectation in the way and it's damn hard to get past it sometimes...LOL
